PRESS RELEASE

IL-07 Congressional Candidate Anabel Mendoza Endorsed By Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption

CHICAGO — Today, Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption announced its endorsement of Anabel Mendoza in Illinois’ 7th Congressional District, citing her commitment to rejecting corporate PAC money and challenging the outsized influence of AIPAC and other similarly powerful lobbying groups in American politics.

The endorsement comes amid growing concern about the flood of outside political spending in the IL-07 race, with special-interest donors seeking to shape the outcome of a district they do not live in or represent.

“I am honored to receive this endorsement and recognition of my dedication to removing special interests from our politics. Let’s be clear — Illinois’ 7th District is not for sale,” said Anabel Mendoza. “Our community is not a seat to be auctioned off to the highest bidder or controlled by billion-dollar lobbying machines. From day one, I have been clear that I will never take a single penny from AIPAC or corporate PACs. Not now, not ever. My loyalty is, and always will be, to the residents and families who call this district their home  — the neighbors fighting for safe streets, dignity for immigrants, and an end to endless war and genocide funded with our tax dollars.”

In describing the types of leaders who they endorse across the country, Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption stated: “These candidates represent a unified front against the status-quo politics of forever wars and corruption. In a district that demands leaders of conscience, they each refuse donations from AIPAC, the Israel lobby, and corporate PACs, ensuring their campaigns are accountable only to the people of IL-07. Their solidarity is rooted in action. They have all taken clear, public stands against the genocide in Gaza, demanding an immediate end to U.S. military aid to Israel and calling for a definitive halt to weapons shipments that fuel the ongoing war crimes. They understand that true safety comes from investing in healthcare, housing, and education here at home, not from funding violence and regime change abroad.”

In conjunction with the endorsement, Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption launched a grassroots fundraising page for Anabel that allows supporters to directly support her people-powered campaign that rejects AIPAC and corporate PAC money.
